    Bachelor of Social Work

My personal experience with therapy, first at a young age and consistently throughout my life, is what inspired me to pursue my own clinical social work license. Therapy provided a safe space for me and a consistency that didn’t exist anywhere else in my life. My goal has always been to pass that gift along to my clients.

I practice mindfulness, yoga, and parts work in my own life to improve my ability to cope with the complex feelings that life presents to me every day.

I am a therapist who is happy to answer questions from clients that will help them feel safe in the therapeutic relationship.

The fun stuff -

I love to read, mostly fiction. I’m deep into booktok so recommendations are always welcome.

I enjoy coffee, hot yoga, and baking. I also have a complicated relationship with my Peloton.

My wiener dog’s name is Dexter and the bark box subscription we have was all his idea. He is also the best cuddle partner for long marathons in front of the tv.

Individual Therapy

Regularly scheduled virtual therapy sessions used to explore your values and experiences, while processing emotions.

These sessions are often conversational but I’m happy to include mindfulness, art, or processing activities if you aren’t sure what to talk about. I also encourage clients to show up to their sessions authentically - if you are more comfortable while coloring, painting your nails or fidgeting please come to session with those supplies.

Adolescent Therapy

Virtual sessions specifically designed for clients between the ages of 10-17 to explore their stressors, identities, and coping skills.

I believe that diving into adolescents interests is one of the only ways to build a relationship - which is the main part of therapeutic success. This can look like watching youtube videos together, playing online games together, doing craft activities, or learning coping skills depending on each unique client.

 More Info…

  • I am an imperfect human who at times feels that I am “taking up too much space” while simultaneously feeling like “there is no space for me here”. One of the ways that I work to find the balance between these two thoughts is by challenging myself to be Mindfully Bright.

To me, this means being bright, bold, loud, proud, and authentic while also being mindful of the environment, circumstance, and other people I’m interacting with. Mindfully bright is all about finding the balance between self-awareness and authenticity.

This is a practice I’m still fine tuning within my own life through exploration in therapy, personal realtionships, and pushing myself to try new things.

I’d love to learn what being Mindfully Bright would look like for you!

  • Many of the areas that I am best fit to support clients with are things that I have spent time processing myself, such as anxiety, grief, life transitions, and self-esteem.

I have years of experience working with families, young adults, and adolescents individually and within their family systems. I also enjoy working with parents who are interested in exploring their own childhood experiences in relation to their parenting strategies.

I love working with first time therapy clients who want to understand their feelings, values, and experiences in order to enact change. I am not someone with all the answers, but I am someone who is able to help you find the answers that make sense for your story.

If this isn’t your first time in therapy but instead you are someone who has tried all the coping skills, understands your past experiences , and are often described as self-aware but can’t seem to feel better you are in the right place. A body based and trauma informed approach can help you process your feelings so that you can feel better in your day to day life.

  • I am a person centered, trauma informed, anti-oppressive therapist, grounded in social justice.

I truly look at the therapeutic relationship as a mutual journey toward a life that feels more balanced and less overwhelming. As a therapist who is constantly working to practice the same ideas that I am sharing with my clients, I know that some weeks are more successful than others. Similarly, each therapy session with me is unique to you; the time is yours and I’m invested in following clients instead of leading.

I believe that my first job is to support you by providing a safe space to process what feels important to you and for you to be your most authentic self. After getting to know you in regularly scheduled sessions, I will start to help you explore repeated concerns through curiosity in relation to your personal values.

  • Depending on what feels best for you our sessions may feel like a conversation or they might be more interactive. As we get to know each other we will decide together if there are any specific activities you want to bring into sessions. I often utilize virtual games, art-based activities, and mindfulness with clients who are interested in exploring alternative ways of processing.

Once you have had time to process the important or stressful parts of your life I will work to help you connect those emotional experiences to how you feel in your body now. We will work together to move beyond understanding your experiences logically so that you can connect with and process the parts of your experience that keep you from implementing lasting changes.

  • I am in network with the following insurance providers

    • Aetna

    • Cigna

    • United Healthcare / Optum

    • Blue Cross Blue Shield

Keep in mind your specific plan may or may not cover mental health benefits. You may be responsible for a copay, coinsurance, or deductible depending upon your plan details.

  • My out of pocket rate is

$120 for a 60 minute individual intake session & 50 minute follow up sessions

When I’m supporting adolescents it is often helpful to have occasional parent sessions. These sessions bill the same rate as above but I am happy to charge for a half session (25min) at the rate of $60, if that is appropriate for the situation.

I now that this rate is still not possible for many people to pay so I do offer a limited number of sliding scale slots for clients who are unable to pay the full amount and do not have insurance coverage. Please contact me if you’d like to learn more.

No Surprise Act and Good Faith Estimates

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • Excluding emergency situations, I require a 24 hour notice to cancel or reschedule sessions. If a session is canceled within 24 hours of the session start time there is a $50 late cancellation fee.

  • The number of sessions and length of therapeutic relationship varies among different clients depending upon their goals. I have clients who have weekly sessions, biweekly sessions and monthly sessions. Additionally I have clients that feel they have reached their goals within a few months and others who need more long term support. The decision about when to end therapy is a continual conversation. I intentionally check in with clients every month about progress towards their goals. We then decide together how we would like to move forward.
